Dalyan is the pearl of the Lycian region situated on the beautiful river which connects the unspoilt Lake Köyceğiiz with the
Mediterranean Sea.
The- 7 miles long Dalyan delta, with its narrow waterways, is surrounded by reed beds. The town itself is flat and easy to get around. You can enjoy boat trips during daytime and whilst cruising along the Dalyan River you can see the ruins of the ancient city of Caunos, which include a theatre dating from the 2nd century BC, Roman baths, temple of Apollo , agora and market place. It is accessible by boat or on foot, and you can also see the carved Lycian king tombs in the limestone mountain.

With its 6 km long shore, Iztuzu Beach will be an unforgettable experience. The Beach is in the top 10 of the world's most famous beaches, as being the sanctuary of the Caretta-Carettas – also known as loggerhead turtles- which lay their eggs in the clean fine sand. The beach is commonly known as “turtle beach”, as well. With its unspoilt nature and protected by strict regulations, Iztuzu has remained a sleepy heaven.
In the daytime you can reach the beach by dolmus buses or on boat but it is not accessible after dark.
In the town you can find lots of restaurants where you will enjoy the sea food and famous Turkish cuisine. You will be able to enjoy your meals opposite the
lit rock tombs
. And the nightlife is lazy and unique.
You can also walk along the riverside, cycle in the
town centre or do some shopping
in the local market. There is a high opportunity of sightseeing, trekking, jeep safari and birdwatching.
The thermal springs and mud baths of Ilica and Sultaniye are known to have many remedial powers, and are an amusing and relaxing way to unwind. Thousands of people come to relax in the mud baths and heal in the thermal springs. Visitors have included Sting and Dustin Hoffman.
If you want to live in a small, unspoilt, and pretty town, Dalyan is the best place for you!
