Dalaman Culture and Tourism Development Region
Dalaman was declared to be a first class Culture and Tourism Development Region on 16 th January, 2005 with the Cabinet Decision, which published in the Official Gazette with 12007/8328 register number.
The project is in the Dalaman Municipality contiguous region and covers nearly 30.000 hectare . It includes a 3500-hectare-land of government farm, the airport, the open prison and paper factory. The project also includes the pine and Sigla (Amber tree) forests.
Studies about the project have been developed rapidly by the Culture and Tourism Ministry. Thanks to the project, the tourism potential of Dalaman is expected to boom.
Göcek Underground Tunnel
Göcek underground Tunnel on the Dalaman- Fethiye motorway, which is also known as Göcek ramps, was given out by contract as a build-operate-transfer model in 2002. The construction of the tunnel started in January, 2004 and came into the service in August, 2006. Through this tunnel the journey from Dalaman to Göcek takes only 10 minutes.
Dalaman Yacht Marina
The studies for Dalaman yacht marina have been finished and the bidding process has been done. Once constructed, it will be one of the biggest marinas in Turkey.
The Airport
International terminal, which was started on the 29 th July, 2004 with build-operate-transfer model, contains 5 million passenger capacities and has 7 bridges, a parking lot for 7 planes, and a parking lot for 1.500 vehicles. The terminal building was completed before the deadline and opened in August 2006 with a ceremony .
